Pakistan has issued 215 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India as part of their participation in an event to commemorate Guru Arjan Dev’s ‘martyrdom day’. The Pakistan High Commission confirmed that the visas had been issued in line with the provision of the bilateral protocol on visits to religious shrines. Under this protocol, Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India visit Pakistan every year, while Pakistani pilgrims visit India. During their stay in Pakistan, the pilgrims will visit several holy sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. The visas were issued as part of Pakistan’s commitment to fully implement the protocol.
