Usman Arshad, a student at the University of Okra, embarked on an extraordinary journey with the aim to reach the revered city of Makkah. The 25-year-old traveler walked for miles across numerous countries, including Iran, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, until he finally received a heartfelt welcome from the Pakistan Hajj Mission.

Upon his arrival at the mission, Usman was warmly greeted with a rousing welcome. The Director General Hajj appreciated Usman’s remarkable journey and presented him with heartfelt gifts as a token of recognition and encouragement. He also ensured that Usman’s Hajj visa was facilitated.

Usman’s journey started in 2021 when he embarked on a 34-day journey, covering an astounding distance of 1,270 miles from Okara to the Khunjerab Pass, situated on the Chinese border. He was guided by his unwavering determination and equipped with just a modest rucksack, an umbrella, and a reliable pair of trekking shoes. Throughout his incredible expedition, he shared that he incurred expenses totaling Rs 850,000 and maintained an impressive daily walking range of 35 to 60 kilometers.

Director General Abdul Wahab Soomro recognized the urgency of the situation and promptly contacted the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Leaders, along with the Saudi Authorities, to expedite the process of facilitating Usman’s Hajj visa.

Usman’s extraordinary tale aims to project a positive image of Pakistan by showcasing his determination and spreading a message of goodwill. This remarkable feat also emphasizes the generosity and hospitality of the Pakistan Hajj Mission, which helped Usman secure his Hajj visa.
