A devoted doggy-duo, Silky and Tammy, are in search of their forever home this Valentine’s Day. These crossbreed dogs found themselves in need of a new family after their owner passed away. Silky, 10, and Tammy, eight, have been inseparable since being handed over to the Dogs Trust in November of last year. Their loving bond offers each other confidence and companionship as they navigate through the devastating loss.

The current foster carers of Silky and Tammy describe them as quiet and loveable house guests who are affectionate with people and each other. These lovable pups would be a perfect addition to a calm household with no other dogs, and preferably children over the age of 14. Patience and kindness are essential for this special pair.

Alex Hennessey, manager at Dogs Trust Darlington Rehoming Centre, expressed the sadness that accompanies dogs entering their care after losing their owners. He emphasized the need for understanding during this challenging time, as dogs often struggle to comprehend the sudden changes and adjust to their new environment.

Silky and Tammy must find a home where they can remain together as they rely on their strong connection. Although limited information is available about their past life, it is known that they lived a sheltered existence in a barn on a farm. Nonetheless, they have adapted admirably to a foster home and have displayed their affectionate nature while enjoying the comforts of love and attention.

While both Silky and Tammy enjoy their food and treats, their foster carers are mindful of their waistlines and monitoring their diets closely. The undeniable truth is that having each other brings them comfort and joy, making it all the more crucial to keep this dynamic duo together.

Valentine’s Day serves as the perfect occasion to share the story of Silky and Tammy, who are eagerly waiting to bring double the love into the life of their new owner. Dogs Trust Darlington urges anyone interested in this extraordinary pair to reach out and provide them with a forever home.
