A fire broke out in a coaching centre building in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar on Thursday, resulting in 61 people being admitted to three hospitals for treatment. Out of those 61 people, 60 were students and one was a guard. 50 students have been discharged from hospitals, while the remaining 11, including the guard, are still under treatment. Around 200-250 students from different coaching centres were attending classes at the time of the incident. The fire was extinguished, and the students from the first and second floors were rescued from the building. Delhi police have registered a case under sections 336/337/338/120B/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigation is underway. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited clarified that the reason for the fire is still unknown, and further investigation is underway.
