Osu, a community in Ghana, welcomed the Chalewote Art Festival with a vibrant and memorable remembrance procession. The festival, which showcases various forms of art, including designs, paintings, and pictures, was brought to Osu for the first time. The procession began at the Christiansborg Castle and made its way through the streets, with participants dressed in all-white attire. Led by Numo Noi Osikan III, Osu Nadu Klottey Wulomo, the procession included the pouring of libations at each road intersection.

The event garnered participation from hundreds of men and women, including the elderly. Osu natives expressed their enthusiasm for the festival, with Naa Lamley Tetteh Oku stating, Chale Wote is now our baby, we shall nurture it to grow. Osu is a tourist community, and with Chale Wote, the fortunes are going to be massive.
Residents of Osu believe that the festival has helped establish their community as a hub for tourism, entertainment, and business. They are confident that the investment of time and money by both the organizers and revelers will result in a worthwhile experience. Notably, Osu, known for its white population, saw a significant number of foreigners, especially Africans from the diaspora, participating in the festival. Some visitors, like Miss Doreen Adu, a half-German and Ghanaian, expressed their delight in discovering the festival through social media and described Osu as a vibrant place to have fun and learn about diverse Ghanaian culture.
The procession culminated at the Independence Arch, where Chief Priest Numo Gbelenfo III poured libation to signify the official commencement of the festival. As he did so, he offered prayers for a smooth and peaceful celebration.
The Chalewote Art Festival in Osu has not only brought together locals and foreigners but has also showcased the rich cultural heritage of Ghana. The event has become a platform for artists to exhibit their talent and has further solidified Osu’s reputation as a vibrant and culturally significant community.
