Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith announced that officers in Orlando shot and killed a wanted suspect from Orange County after the suspect fired a weapon in front of the officers. The incident occurred when officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle on a warrant, and the suspect then produced a firearm, shooting at least one round. In response, officers returned fire, hitting the suspect. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was sought in connection with an attempted murder and stalking case in Orange County. The suspect has succumbed to the injuries sustained in the altercation.
