Ora Developers has launched its latest and largest project in Iraq, Ali El Wardy, which aims to address the urban housing crisis in Baghdad. The project was officially announced in the presence of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani and involves the construction of a smart and eco-friendly residential city.
The contract for Ali El Wardy was signed by Bangin Rekani, the Iraqi Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works, and Naguib Sawiris, the Global CEO and Chairperson of Ora Developers Group. The project is aligned with the Iraqi government’s strategy to develop new residential cities outside the city centers, providing a solution to the shortage of affordable housing.
Ali El Wardy Residential City will offer a unique living experience for its residents. It will consist of various types of residential units catering to different segments of society, ranging from affordable to luxury units. The project will also include essential services such as education, healthcare, social facilities, and entertainment options, benefiting both the residents and the surrounding areas.
Situated approximately 25 km southeast of Baghdad, the development covers a vast land area of 61 million square meters. The city will comprise more than 100,000 residential units, along with expansive green spaces and parks spanning an area of 5 million square meters. Embracing technology and sustainability, Ali El Wardy will incorporate the features of a smart city and adhere to high environmental standards.
Naguib Sawiris expressed Ora Developers Group’s commitment to creating modern communities that strike a balance between environmental sustainability and meeting human and social needs. Ora Developers Group has successfully executed projects across four continents, symbolizing global excellence in countries such as Egypt, Cyprus, Pakistan, Grenada, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates. Their projects have achieved an estimated gross sales value of $14.2 billion, supported by a gross investment of $11 billion.
In addition to Ali El Wardy, Ora Developers Group has completed significant projects in Egypt. The ZED El Sheikh Zayed project, encompassing over 4,600 residential units with various amenities, had its first phase delivered in December 2023. Pyramid Hills, a development featuring 551 residential units, including apartments, townhouses, and villas, was also handed over in the same year. The construction of Silversands North Coast, a project along the Mediterranean Sea consisting of 4,000 units and a 5-star hotel, has commenced, with the first phase set to be completed by the summer of 2024. Furthermore, the Solana projects in different parts of Cairo, offering 4,000 modern residential units across 600 feddans, have commenced execution.
