The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) led by Badruddin Ajmal has claimed that the newly formed joint opposition bloc, INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), will secure over 300 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, effectively ousting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power. According to Aminul Islam, an AIUDF MLA and party General Secretary, INDIA has the potential to win 320 to 330 seats in the upcoming elections. However, he stressed that the Congress party must make concessions and accept all secular parties to pave the way for this victory.

Islam pointed out that out of the 38 constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the BJP alone holds 301 seats, while the remaining 37 parties account for only 31 seats. He further emphasized that several parties within the NDA do not have any MPs, while the opposition parties collectively possess 205 MLAs. Additionally, there are other political parties not affiliated with either the NDA or the INDIA bloc, and these parties hold 64 seats. Islam claimed that the BJP’s popularity has been diminishing, citing their recent defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections, and suggested that their seat share in the Lok Sabha could decrease to single digits in the state.

Addressing the BJP’s performance, Islam criticized the party for failing to fulfill its election promises and exacerbated concerns over rising inflation, negatively impacting the common man. He expressed curiosity about the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, implying that similar outcomes to the Karnataka elections could be expected nationwide in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

While the AIUDF leader disputed the BJP’s claim of winning 12 out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam, he predicted a different outcome for the party. However, specific details were not provided.

The joint opposition bloc, comprising 26 parties, officially adopted the name Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) during their second meeting held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The meeting concluded on July 18, with all participating parties agreeing to unite under the INDIA banner. The next meeting of the opposition parties is scheduled to take place in Mumbai.

In conclusion, the AIUDF and its leader, Badruddin Ajmal, are confident that the INDIA bloc will secure a significant number of seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, ultimately toppling the BJP government. While the AIUDF leader highlighted certain statistics and the BJP’s alleged shortcomings, a formidable challenge to the ruling party is anticipated. The joint opposition’s unity and determination will undoubtedly shape the future political landscape leading up to the crucial elections.
