Police have booked several horse and mule operators who allegedly assaulted a devotee on the Kedarnath Dham pilgrimage route in India. The Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police has instructed all subordinate officers to make the popular Kedarnath Dham Yatra simple, safe, and easy for pilgrims, ensuring that every devotee reaching the door of the 11th Jyotirlinga Baba Kedar is safe. According to Rudraprayag police, necessary guidelines have been put in place for officers to take effective action against those who misbehave with devotees.
An investigation was carried out into the assault of a pilgrim on the basis of a complaint. Kotwali Sonprayag registered charges under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and five individuals involved in the attack have been identified by police and necessary legal action has been taken.
