Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident on the Ujjain-Indore Road, the operator of Vrindavan Dhaba was brutally attacked by a notorious criminal and his gang over a dispute regarding ‘hafta vasuli’ or extortion. The victim sustained severe injuries and needed 15 stitches in both his hands. The local police have registered a case against the accused under section 307 of the IPC and have begun a search operation to apprehend them.
Ravindra Singh Rathore, the operator of Vrindavan Dhaba, stated that the conflict arose when criminal Nagendra alias Nagu demanded extortion money from him and physically assaulted him on January 21. Despite lodging a complaint at the Nanakheda police station, no action was taken against Nagu. Emboldened by the lack of police intervention, three miscreants arrived at the dhaba on Friday night. They threatened and attacked Ravindra, with Nagu even brandishing a pistol and intensifying the intimidation.
