OpenAI has made a significant move to attract developers with its latest offering, ChatGPT Turbo, along with reduced prices. The company’s chief executive, Sam Altman, announced the news at a gathering in San Francisco where he emphasized the potential for integrated intelligence to give everyone superpowers on demand.

Currently, more than 2 million developers are building on the OpenAI platform, while over 100 million people utilize ChatGPT on a weekly basis. The launch of ChatGPT last year led to an AI race, with giants like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta Platforms joining in.

Altman described ChatGPT-4 Turbo as a smarter model with a focus on reducing price, while also mentioning that speed would be a future priority. OpenAI is now introducing custom agents called GPTs which can be tailored to handle specific tasks like business negotiations, laundry tips, homework help, and tech support. Importantly, no coding is required to build these GPTs.

OpenAI plans to launch a GPT store later this month, which will allow developers to earn money based on the usage of their GPTs. The company’s relationship with Microsoft was also highlighted during the gathering, with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressing excitement about the Turbo version and OpenAI’s future plans.

OpenAI’s decision to lower prices and enhance its software capabilities is expected to facilitate the wider availability and adoption of AI technology. The ability to easily create customized agents opens up possibilities for various industries and individuals to benefit from AI-powered solutions.

Overall, OpenAI’s latest developments demonstrate the ongoing efforts to make AI more accessible and adaptable to individual needs. With the introduction of ChatGPT Turbo and the upcoming GPT store, the potential for innovation and collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence continues to expand.
