Bengaluru: Krutrim, the AI unicorn founded by Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, has introduced graphics processing units (GPU)-as-a-service. This service enables enterprises and developers to train and fine-tune their models at competitive prices. It has also opened up its cloud platform to enterprises, researchers, and developers for access to AI computing infrastructure, Krutrim’s foundational models, and open-source models hosted on its platform.Additionally, it offers foundational location services APIs (application programming interface) and SDKs (software development kits) for developing innovative localized mapping solutions. In January, Krutrim raised $50 million in a funding round led by Matrix Partners India. Aggarwal said the funding was at a valuation of over $1 billion. This makes it perhaps India’s first unicorn in the pure AI space
Moreover, the Krutrim assistant app, powered by the company’s indigenous LLM (large language model) trained on over 2 trillion tokens with the largest representation of Indic data, can generate responses in 10 Indian languages. It will soon expand to support all 22 official languages. In the future, the app will incorporate voice prompts and integrate text, voice, and visual data in the output.
In line with our Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, we are committed to developing full-stack AI capabilities in India, for the world. With Krutrim, our enterprises and developers will no longer have to be dependent on complex and cost-heavy western cloud platforms, which are not optimized for the Indian use cases, said Bhavish Aggarwal, founder of Ola Krutrim.
