Odisha is currently experiencing extreme heat, with no relief in sight for at least the next two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the maximum temperature across the districts of Odisha will remain high, with hot and uncomfortable weather expected for the next three days.
According to the IMD, a few places over the districts of Odisha will see a maximum temperature above 4 to 6 degree Celsius, creating a dangerous situation for people who will be outdoors between 11 am and 3 pm each day. The weather office has advised people to take precautionary measures to stay safe during these hours.
Orange Warning has been issued for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions in various districts like Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Keonjhar today. A yellow warning for heatwave conditions has also been issued for Sundargarh, Nuapada, Kandhamal, and Mayurbhanj.
Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, recorded a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius by 5:30 am today, with humidity levels at 88 per cent.
The IMD has warned that this heatwave could persist in the region for the next few days. It is essential to take care of oneself, avoid staying outdoors during peak heat hours and keep hydrated throughout the day. The situation is challenging not only for people but also animals and plants, who are also vulnerable to the dangers of extreme temperature.
