Odia CRPF Jawan Sushant Khuntia Martyred in Naxal Attack, Mortal Remains Arrive in Anandapur
Tragedy struck as Odia CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) jawan Sushant Khuntia was martyred in a fierce Naxal attack in Jharkhand on Friday. The mortal remains of the brave jawan have now been brought back to his ancestral village in Anandapur.
Khuntia, who had been serving as a jawan with the CRPF since 2012, sustained a bullet injury in his chest during the encounter between security forces and Naxals. Despite undergoing treatment, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred when the 60th battalion of CRPF was conducting a combing operation in the Kolhan Forest area, under the jurisdiction of the Tonto police station in Jharkhand. The security forces discovered and dismantled a Naxal camp and also seized a significant cache of arms during the operation. Following the encounter, two jawans were injured and airlifted to Ranchi for advanced medical care. Unfortunately, one of them lost their life, as confirmed by Chaibasa Police.
The news of Sushant Khuntia’s demise has cast a pall of gloom over the Anandapur region. The young jawan, who had recently tied the knot, leaves behind a grieving family and a devastated community.
In the wake of this tragic incident, the security forces have intensified their search operation in the area. Ensuring the safety and security of the region remains a top priority.
