OceanGate’s website appears to be down as news of the recent tragedy involving the Titanic-bound submarine spreads. The submersible was carrying five individuals, including the CEO of OceanGate, when it lost contact and went missing shortly before reaching the site where the Titanic wreckage rests. Despite rescue efforts involving commercial and military forces from Canada, France, and the U.K., all individuals on board were declared dead after the debris found underwater was consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel.

People are attempting to access OceanGate’s website for more information on the safety guidelines of its expeditions, considering the recent loss of life. However, the website is currently down, displaying an error message to all visitors. Twitter users have shared screenshots of the website’s content before it was inaccessible.

On Thursday afternoon, OceanGate confirmed that CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet had been lost in the catastrophic implosion. The company expressed deep sadness over the loss of life of these true explorers and their families’ immense grief.

The eight-day expedition into deep waters, including a two-hour descent to the wreck site of the Titanic, began on June 18th. Contact with the submersible was lost one hour and forty-five minutes into its dive. The oxygen supply seemed to last until Thursday morning, and experts feared that the vessel could implode from the extreme pressure at a depth of 13,000 feet below the sea level.

The loss of life on the Titanic-bound submarine is tragic and has sparked concern among people who have explored similar expeditions. The website of OceanGate is currently inaccessible, leaving many people in search of information about safety and expeditions to similar depths. The entire explorer community is grieving for the loss of life and joy that these true explorers brought to everyone they knew.
