Nvidia has made the much-anticipated reveal of its latest graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 40 Super Series, at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The lineup features three cards, namely the RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4080 Super, starting at a competitive price of $599. These new GPUs are expected to deliver enhanced performance, reduced power consumption, and support for Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology.

Rumored since late 2023, the RTX 40 Super Series graphics cards will be rolled out gradually throughout January, giving PC gamers a range of options to choose from. The RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super will replace their non-Super counterparts, while the RTX 4080 Super will succeed the RTX 4080. The new GPUs boast compatibility with Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology and improved AI task support.

During the CES keynote on January 8, Nvidia announced that the RTX 4070 Super, priced at $599, will be available starting on January 17. It offers 20% more CUDA cores than the previous RTX 4070 and boasts a power draw of 220W. Nvidia claims that the RTX 4070 Super will outperform the previous-generation RTX 3090, while consuming significantly less power. On the other hand, the RTX 4070 Ti Super, priced at $799, will be released on January 24, surpassing its non-Super counterpart with increased VRAM and memory bandwidth. Equipped with 16GB of GDDR6X memory, the RTX 4070 Ti Super shares a 256-bit memory bus with the RTX 4080 and 4090 models.

The GeForce RTX 4080 Super, set to launch at the end of January with an MSRP of $999, offers users a more cost-effective option compared to its predecessor, the RTX 4080, which was priced at $1,199 upon its release in November 2022. The RTX 4080 Super retains 16GB of VRAM, while featuring slightly more CUDA cores and a similar power draw of 320W.

Nvidia is also set to release new GeForce drivers along with the RTX 40 Super Series cards, ensuring continued support for the RTX 40 lineup throughout 2024. The response from consumers remains to be seen.

With the reveal of the pricing and specs for the GeForce RTX 40 Super Series, Nvidia aims to provide PC gamers with a range of powerful options at competitive prices. Gamers can now plan their upgrades and look forward to increased gaming performance and efficiency with these new graphics cards.
