The Northeast Distributors Association (NEDA) has announced the recovery of over Rs 100 crores in unsettled damages from FMCG companies to distributors since 1997. Founded with the goal of promoting a supportive and beneficial environment for its members, NEDA has become a major force in the FMCG industry in India. At its recent 2nd Executive Meeting held in Assam, India, NEDA also shared its strategic plans to expand membership, encourage networking opportunities, and promote profitable growth for both distributors and FMCG companies.
Led by Dr. Vijay Kumar Gupta as President of NEDA, Poonam Kumar Taneja as General Secretary, and Pradip Kr. Das as working President of NEDA, the association has successfully championed the rights of its members in the complex landscape of the FMCG industry. Additionally, NEDA has a dedicated team of 125 executive delegates who have contributed to the association’s close-knit community emphasizing collective growth and success.
In 2022, NEDA celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand celebration during its 20th Annual General Meeting in Sonapur, Guwahati, Assam, attended by the All India Consumer Products Distributors’ Federation (AICPDF). The event marked a significant milestone for the association, showcasing its evolution and growth over the past years. NEDA has become increasingly influential in the Northeast region of India and has played a key role in resolving disputes between distributors and FMCG companies.
Taneja spoke at the recent meeting regarding the dangers of prioritizing financial strength over professional experience when choosing distributors. He emphasized the importance of considering both factors for healthier and more effective distribution networks. The meeting also honored Prakash Gupta, NEDA’s Grievance Chief, for his outstanding role in resolving disputes between distributors and FMCG companies, proving him to be an invaluable member of the association.
The association’s strategic plan is focused on promoting membership expansion, fostering networking opportunities, encouraging fellowship activities, and promoting profitable growth for distributors and FMCG companies. The proactive approach is designed to enhance the association’s collective resources, provide supportive environments, build a strong organization, and support members in their pursuit of success and growth.
NEDA’s unwavering commitment to its members and its bold, strategic vision promises a more robust, collaborative, and successful FMCG distribution industry in the northeast region of India.
