A 33-year-old woman from Normal, Illinois is facing multiple felony drug charges after allegedly fleeing from police officers. Antoinette L. Bennett is accused of unlawful possession of controlled substances and intent to deliver, as well as aggravated fleeing and resisting a peace officer.
The incident occurred when officers from the Bloomington Police Department pulled Bennett over for a traffic violation. After discovering that her driver’s license had expired, they asked her to step out of the vehicle. However, instead of complying, Bennett drove away from the scene.
She was later apprehended by the Normal Police Department, where officers found controlled substances, including cocaine and cannabis, along with drug packing materials, a scale, and a significant amount of cash. As a result, Bennett is now facing numerous charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of controlled substances, and fleeing from the police.
Bennett’s bond has been set at $75,000 with 10% required for release. She is scheduled for arraignment on August 18.
