Nokia has announced an upgrade of Bouygues Telecom’s IP network, aimed at increasing capacity and energy efficiency. The Finnish technology company will supply its high-performance FP5-based IP routers as part of the project, which will modernize Bouygues Telecom’s IP core network and expand the capacity of its security gateway solutions.
The upgraded IP network will include Nokia’s 7750 Service Router (SR) platform, which is powered by the innovative FP5 routing silicon. The FP5 technology, a crucial factor in Bouygues Telecom’s choice, enables the construction of higher-capacity IP networks that are more energy efficient. The FP5’s 800GE capability not only facilitates future scalability but also supports sustainable traffic growth. Additionally, Nokia’s system design innovation ensures a seamless upgrade from Bouygues Telecom’s existing FP4 platform, allowing for increased network capacity while extending the life of deployed systems.
In addition to the IP routers, Nokia will also deploy its FP5-powered SR-1 routers and the 7750 Extended Services Appliance (ESA) to enhance Bouygues Telecom’s existing security gateway services. These updates will cater to the increased capacity and scalability demands of Bouygues Telecom’s mobile broadband services.
