No casualties have been reported in the collapse of the Aguwani-Sultanganj bridge in Bihar’s Bhagalpur, Southern Bhagalpur Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dhananjay Kumar confirmed on Sunday. SDRF teams are currently carrying out search operations to ensure everyone is accounted for. The under-construction bridge collapsed in the Ganga River, and locals managed to capture the moment on video. The incident has sparked controversy, with the opposition BJP accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government of corruption. The Chief Minister ordered an inquiry into the matter and urged officials to take strict action against anyone responsible for the poor construction work of the bridge. CM Nitish Kumar expressed disappointment over the delay in the completion of the bridge and vowed to ensure completion as soon as possible with the help of his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav.
