The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is set to launch a mobile app as part of their plan to provide seamless connectivity to commuters. This app will allow commuters to book cabs, autos and e-rickshaws from its Aqua Line metro stations to adjoining sectors.
The app, called the Journey Planner, will provide a single platform for commuters to book their trips and plan for their travels across various modes of transport. It is also intended to engage with private players to offer services for the commuters.
To ensure success of the app and receive feedback from commuters, NMRC is launching a questionnaire for one month, from May 25 to June 24. Those who participate will be eligible for early bird prizes. The questionnaire will be accessible on the NMRC website and through local newspapers. Hard copies of the questionnaire are also available at the Knowledge Park, Pari Chowk and Sector 51 metro stations.
The NMRC operates the 29.7-km long Aqua Line metro corridor, with a daily ridership of 48,000. It has 21 metro stations, starting from Sector 51, Noida and ending at Depot Station, Greater Noida.
The spokesperson of NMRC, Nisha Wadhwan said, “The app is a great boost to last-mile ride as it will provide commuters more options for their travels. It will help them plan their journey in a more efficient manner and save time.” This initiative by NMRC shows their commitment to providing convenience and ease of access to commuters. It will go a long way in improving last-mile connectivity for commuters.
