In a recent development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet naming prominent political figures, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, in a land-for-job scam case. Following this, Bihar BJP leader Ajay Alok launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of being the patron of corruption.
Alok claimed that Nitish Kumar would inevitably resign in the next 10-15 days, alleging that his cabinet was filled with corrupt leaders. Taking a dig at Kumar’s claim of having zero-tolerance against crime, corruption, and communalism, Alok stated that while the corrupt leaders enjoyed a guarantee of corruption, the guarantee of action came from Prime Minister Modi.
The BJP leader further accused Lalu Prasad Yadav of accepting money during his tenure in exchange for providing jobs in the railways, emphasizing the presence of concrete evidence against them.
It is worth mentioning that Rashtriya Janata Dal, along with the Congress, is an alliance partner of the Janata Dal United (JDU) in Bihar.
The chargesheet, filed by the CBI on Monday at the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi, not only names Lalu Prasad Yadav but also includes his wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and several others.
According to the CBI, irregular appointments were made in the Central Railway, which violated the established norms and procedures of Indian Railways for recruitment.
The next hearing in this matter is scheduled for July 12.
On March 15, the Court granted regular bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, their daughter Misa Bharti, and other accused in the case.
