NIT Rourkela Achieves Record-Breaking Placement with 95% Job Offers
The National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) has set a new milestone by successfully placing 95% of its students in the academic year 2022-23. The institute witnessed an exceptional placement season with a total of 1,534 job offers from over 330 companies that visited the campus.
NIT Rourkela recorded its highest-ever number of job offers, surpassing all previous years. Notably, three international placements were secured, adding to the institute’s growing global reach. The remarkable success in placements highlights the quality education and skill development provided by NIT Rourkela.
Several branches of study witnessed outstanding placement records. Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation, as well as Ceramic Engineering, along with the dual degree program in Mining and Ceramic Engineering, achieved 100% placement for registered students. Moreover, 24 students secured packages exceeding Rs 50 LPA, with eight students receiving the highest package of Rs 52.89 LPA.
The placement season also saw an impressive surge in offers across diverse sectors, reaching unprecedented levels. The average overall Cost to Company (CTC) increased by more than 16%, rising from Rs 11.15 LPA in 2021-2022 to Rs 12.95 LPA in 2022-2023. The average CTC for the flagship B. Tech program stands at an impressive Rs 14.22 LPA.
