NIPSCO Donates Toys, Cash, and Toiletries Through Its Hope for the Holidays Campaign

NIPSCO, a Merrillville-based utility company, is spreading joy and making a difference in the community through its annual Hope for the Holidays campaign. This year, the company and its employees have come together to donate toys, cash, food, clothes, and toiletries to various nonprofits across Northern Indiana.

Toys for Tots drives in 21 counties in the service area of NIPSCO were the recipients of over 1,000 toys, thanks to the generosity of NIPSCO employees. The toys were distributed to children in need in Lake, LaPorte, Porter, Starke, Jasper, St. Joseph County, Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Steuben, Wells, Elkhart County, Miami, Cass, Howard, Fulton, Wabash, Grant, and Tipton counties.

NIPSCO also extended its support beyond toy donations. The company donated 200 bags filled with toiletries and supplies to Gabriel’s Horn of Porter County and the Crisis Center of Lake County. Moreover, NIPSCO has contributed over $150,000 to various nonprofits, including Blessings in a Backpack of Fort Wayne, Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Indiana, Community Harvest of Northeast Indiana, Community Help Network in Crown Point, Gary YWCA, Kokomo Urban Outreach, LaPorte County Sherriff’s Christmas Program, Make a Kid Smile of Northwest Indiana, Managed East Chicago Housing Authority, Miami County Helping Hands, North and Calumet Township Trustees Offices in Lake County, Salvation Army of Northwest Indiana, Shop with a Cop in Michigan City, St. Joe Sheriff Lodge 155, St. Jude House Domestic Violence Shelter in Crown Point, and Tradewinds in Merrillville.

Mike Hooper, the President of NIPSCO, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to provide support to the community. He emphasized the significance of giving back and the positive impact it creates. Our ‘Hope for the Holidays’ initiative is just one of the many ways in which we strive to create a positive impact in the communities we’re privileged to serve. We look forward to continuing this tradition of giving and spreading hope and cheer to those in need, said Hooper.

NIPSCO’s commitment to the community extends beyond its core business of providing energy services. The company recognizes the importance of supporting local nonprofits and making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families during the holiday season.

Through the Hope for the Holidays campaign, NIPSCO is demonstrating its dedication to corporate social responsibility, helping to bring joy and happiness to those who may otherwise go without during this festive period. The donations of toys, cash, food, clothes, and toiletries will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the lives of many individuals and families across Northern Indiana.

NIPSCO’s efforts highlight the power of collective giving, as employees come together to support local nonprofits and spread hope throughout the region. Their generosity serves as an inspiration for others to contribute to the well-being of the community and help make a difference in the lives of those in need.

As the holiday season approaches, NIPSCO’s Hope for the Holidays campaign serves as a reminder of the importance of giving back and the impact that each individual and organization can have when they join forces to support their community.
