Nigeria’s Dangote refinery has commenced operations, with plans to offer diesel and jet fuel pending regulatory approval, according to Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote Group. The refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (b/d), is expected to produce 215,000 b/d of diesel and export 130,000 b/d of it. Additionally, it will generate 50,000 b/d of jet fuel, with 35,000 b/d earmarked for export. No middle distillate loadings have been reported at Nigerian ports yet, since the final crude batch arrived at the Dangote refinery on 8 January. The facility aims to produce 300,000 b/d of gasoline, primarily for the domestic market.
