Nicola Peltz Beckham, the actress and daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, is set to face questioning on video as part of a legal dispute over her wedding planners. The dispute arose after Peltz’s father filed a lawsuit against Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba, the co-owners of Plan Design Events, demanding the return of his $159,000 deposit.
In response, the wedding planners countersued for breach of contract, accusing Nelson Peltz of being a bully. They claimed to have worked tirelessly to meet the demands of the family for Nicola’s wedding to Brooklyn Beckham, which took place last year.
Despite her father’s involvement, Nicola, 28, denied any role in the dispute. However, she will now be deposed for an on-camera grilling in one month, whether she believes she should be involved or not.
Nicola’s deposition will be the first time that the Peltz family provides on-the-record answers in the case. The hope was that mediation could resolve the issue, which led to the postponement of Nelson’s May court date. Despite both Nicola and her mother Claudia’s lawyers attempting to have them removed from the counterclaim, they remain listed as third-party defendants.
The Peltz family’s lawyers have accused Plan Design Events of making frivolous claims and attempting to portray Nicola in a negative light. Nelson Peltz argues that the wedding planners were not up to the task of organizing the luxurious ceremony he had envisioned on his Palm Beach estate.
The legal battle between Nelson Peltz and the wedding planners continues, with Nicola’s deposition expected to shed more light on the situation. Both sides are hoping for a resolution, but for now, the dispute remains ongoing.
