Newcastle Pursues Tierney/Cucurella Loan Deals, Celtic Eyes Fraser

Newcastle United is actively pursuing loan deals for left-backs Kieran Tierney of Arsenal and Marc Cucurella of Chelsea, according to a report in the Telegraph. The club is looking to strengthen its defensive options with either player, and both deals would include an option or obligation to buy the player next summer. Newcastle is confident that they can reach a breakthrough with one of their Premier League rivals and secure one of these loan deals.

In addition to a left-back, Newcastle is also interested in finding a similar loan deal for a right-sided center-back. However, they have yet to identify viable options in the current market.

Meanwhile, Celtic is eyeing a potential move for Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser, who has fallen out of favor at the club. Fraser, along with Isaac Hayden and Jeff Hendrick, has been deemed surplus to requirements and is currently training with the club’s development squad. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his squad with a new winger and sees the Scotland international as a possible option. A formal approach from Celtic is expected in due course.

Eddie Howe, the Newcastle manager, acknowledged the difficulty in finding new clubs for these out-of-favor players, considering factors such as contract length and wages. He expressed his desire for them to have successful careers elsewhere and wished them well.

The pursuit of Tierney and Cucurella demonstrates Newcastle’s commitment to strengthening their defensive line. Both players possess quality and experience that would greatly benefit the team. If Newcastle manages to secure either of these loan deals, it would significantly bolster their squad depth. Similarly, Celtic’s interest in Ryan Fraser showcases their ambition to add talented players to their roster, with Fraser bringing valuable experience and skill to the Scottish club.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle can finalize these loan deals and if Fraser will make a move to Celtic. Fans and pundits will be eagerly anticipating further developments in these transfer sagas.
