Mumbai, Pune and Konkan varsities have recently appointed new Vice Chancellors. Dr. Ravindra D. Kulkarni has been named the new VC of University of Mumbai, Dr. Suresh W. Gosavi has been appointed as the new VC of Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Dr Sanjay G. Bhave shall be the new VC of the Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in Dapoli. These top posts have been vacant for some time, but the Governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, has now made the appointments.
Dr. Kulkarni is a well-respected educationist and senior professor at the Institute of Chemical Technology. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, which will be crucial for his new role as VC. Meanwhile, Dr. Gosavi is a senior professor in the Department of Physics and has a proven track record in the education sector.
Finally, Dr. Bhave is a highly qualified academic who has expertise in the Department of Agricultural Botany. He could well be the perfect candidate to take the Konkan Agricultural University to new heights.
The Governor has expressed his confidence in the new VCs and believes that they will be able to lead their respective universities to success. It is hoped that with these new appointments, the universities will now be able to achieve their goals and fulfil their role in shaping the next generation of academics in Maharashtra.
