Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) in New Delhi has become operational after the Union Health Ministry ordered the new in-patient block to be made functional. The LHMC’s ongoing comprehensive redevelopment plan includes operationalising the new in-patient block, which has a capacity of 930 beds. The new block includes space for 200 emergency patients and boasts modern facilities such as air conditioning, water, sanitation, lift and other related services. Phase 1 of the bed shifting process was initiated on 9 June, with a full migration expected to take place within a few weeks.
