New Commercial Building Approved for Havelock Rd in Havelock North, New Zealand

Another multi-level building is set to be constructed in Havelock North as the Hastings District Council (HDC) grants resource consent to Wallace Development Construction Ltd. The three-level commercial building, located at 15 Havelock Rd, will feature office spaces spanning two storeys, with 14 undercroft car parks underneath. Although the building slightly exceeds the HDC’s height regulations at its highest points, it has been granted waivers under the Havelock North Village Centre Mixed Zone rules. The previous building on the site is currently undergoing demolition and removal. Construction on the new development is scheduled to begin in February and be completed by December. The building will serve as the new location for the Havelock North branch of Bayleys Realty Group, with design elements incorporated to meet seismic code requirements and reduce heating and cooling costs. In addition to this development, Foodstuffs is in the process of completing a New World supermarket on Havelock Rd, while Wallace Development has plans for a three-storey hotel on Joll Rd, with the top two levels comprising a Quest Apartment Hotel and the ground floor designated for retail spaces.
