The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 on its official website, nta.nic.in. Candidates who appeared for the exam can access their scorecards, cut-offs, and toppers’ list on the website.
NEET UG 2023 was conducted on May 7, 2023, with 2087462 candidates participating in 4097 centers across 499 cities in India, including 14 cities outside the country.
The All India toppers in NEET 2023 are Prabhanjan J of Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi of Andhra Pradesh, who scored a perfect 720/720 (99.999901 percentile).
The NTA also provided category-wise pass percentages, with candidates from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) achieving the highest pass percentage of 64.6%, followed by Other Backward Caste (OBC) candidates with a success rate of 60.15%. Only 44.7% of Scheduled Tribe (ST) students cleared the exam, recording the lowest pass percentage. General category and Scheduled Caste (SC) students had a pass rate of 52.76% and 52.09%, respectively.
In the top 50 toppers’ list, only two SC and one EWS candidate are present, while there are no aspirants from ST communities. Ten OBC students made it to the list, while the rest of the 37 spots are occupied by general category students.
NEET UG is the qualifying test for various medical and healthcare programs, including Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), and BSc (H) Nursing courses.
Due to the unfortunate violence in Manipur, NEET UG was conducted separately by NTA in the state on June 6, 2023.
