Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently held a meeting with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Members of Parliament (MPs) from West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand to discuss the alliance’s remarkable 25-year journey. During the meeting, PM Modi emphasized the unprecedented nature of this alliance and expressed his intent to carry it forward.

The meeting also saw PM Modi highlighting alleged scams associated with the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. He mentioned that the UPA government had to change its name to I.N.D.I.A as it was plagued by scandals such as the 2G and 3G scams.

Sukanta Majumdar, the Chief of West Bengal’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), shared that PM Modi stated that the formation of I.N.D.I.A was an attempt to conceal the tarnished reputation of the UPA. PM Modi reportedly accused the UPA of being involved in various scams, including the 2G and Commonwealth Games scandals. He claimed that I.N.D.I.A was merely a new disguise for the UPA to mislead the public.

The discussion also touched upon the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with PM Modi addressing the BJP MPs about the importance of these polls.

Additionally, a video highlighting the development initiatives undertaken by the NDA government in West Bengal over the course of nine years was presented during the meeting. The video also highlighted instances of violence in West Bengal.

PM Modi criticized the opposition for their alleged lack of knowledge about the full form of I.N.D.I.A and accused them of pursuing personal agendas rather than working in the public’s interest. He emphasized that the formation of the NDA was driven by a commitment to public welfare and the BJP’s selfless approach towards politics. PM Modi cited examples from Bihar, Maharashtra, and other states where the BJP prioritized their alliance partners, even when they had a smaller number of Members of Parliament.

The meeting also served as a platform for PM Modi to outline the achievements of his government, including the revocation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Mandir, the development of the Kashi corridor, and the abolition of triple talaq. He urged MPs to focus on spreading awareness about these accomplishments and the benefits of government schemes among the public.

The BJP has planned to initiate the Mera Desh Meri Mati campaign from August 15 to 26. As part of this campaign, MPs will collect soil from different villages and bring it to Delhi, where it will be stored in Amrit Udhyan (Amrit Kalash). The overarching aim of this initiative is to promote unity across India through the symbolism of soil.

PM Modi concluded the meeting by encouraging all MPs to actively engage with voters and communicate directly with the public in the lead-up to the 2024 polls. He emphasized the importance of highlighting the government’s achievements and sharing them with the electorate.

The next NDA meeting is scheduled for August 2 and will focus on MPs from Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar, and Lakshadweep. This will be followed by meetings on August 3 for MPs from Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh; on August 8 for Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Goa; and on August 9 for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu. The meeting for the Northeast cluster is yet to be decided.
