NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade captured its largest-ever audience, with the 2023 edition drawing in over 28 million viewers. The parade held in New York City managed to break its own ratings record, exceeding expectations for the iconic holiday tradition.

The parade’s rating in the key 18-49 demographic reached an impressive 7.2. Comparing this to last year’s parade, there was a noteworthy increase of 6% in both viewership and demo rating.
For the live linear telecast alone, the parade attracted an audience of 22.3 million viewers (5.3 in the demo), establishing itself as the highest-rated entertainment program of the year across all television for both categories mentioned earlier. Notably, this achievement marks the first time since the 2021 parade. Additionally, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade became Peacock’s most-watched entertainment simulcast since the streaming service’s inception, more than doubling the streaming hours from the previous year’s parade.
