Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has given his approval for the construction of 21 road projects covering a distance of 172.53 km at a cost of INR 158 crores in the Malkangiri district. The Rural Development department put forward these projects to provide connectivity to the interior blocks of Chitrakonda, Kalimela, Korukonda, and Podia.

The Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana-Connecting Unconnected Villages in Difficult Areas (MMSY-CUVDA) scheme, which is fully funded by the State Government, will undertake these projects, highlighting Odisha’s commitment to ensuring rural connectivity in Maoist-affected and challenging areas.

The Muduliguda to Amalibeda road, covering a distance of 32 km, will cost INR 30 crore. Another critical project is Polur to Kursanpalli, which will cover 11.6 km at a cost of INR 9 crore.

These projects will undoubtedly boost the development of the Malkangiri district. The CM’s decision to approve these road projects is a welcome step towards providing better connectivity in the area and bridging the gap between the rural and urban population.

It is commendable that the state government is taking measures to ensure the development of challenging areas that are often neglected. The construction of these roads will positively impact transportation, education, and healthcare in the region.

The government’s commitment to the development of Maoist-infested regions demonstrates its sincerity towards establishing a peaceful and prosperous state with equal opportunities for all.

The scheme’s implementation will enhance the livelihoods of the rural population and ensure their inclusion in the development process. The government’s focus on ensuring rural connectivity will help the state to achieve sustainable development goals and improve the standard of living of the people living in these areas.

Overall, the approval of these road projects shows the government’s dedication to uplift underdeveloped regions and improve their quality of life. The completion of these projects will undoubtedly enhance Malkangiri’s economic development, enabling its residents to benefit from better access to transportation, improved healthcare facilities, and educational opportunities.
