People have discovered the Nations League has a theme song – and it’s a banger
The Nations League theme song has gone down a treat with fans who couldn’t stop obsessing over it on social media. The anthem, composed by Giorgio Tuinfort and Franck van der Heijden, was originally recorded with the help of the Netherlands Radio Choir and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
The draw for the 2024/25 edition of the tournament occurred on Thursday (February 8) as England supporters discovered the Three Lions will be taking on Ireland, Finland, and Greece in Group B, with matches beginning in September.
While they tuned in for the draw, they stayed for the theme song which fans couldn’t help applaud on social media. The anthem-loving fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) were shocked to discover that such a thing existed, but it didn’t take long for them to flock to the song. Fans couldn’t resist expressing their love for the tune, with one user adding: Hang on this nations league song kind of goes hard, while another branded the song a certified banger.

While the song stole the attention of the draw, England fans enjoyed the group they found themselves in, despite a recently poor record against Iceland. Although the Three Lions defeated Iceland 3-0 in their last meeting back in 2020, they’ve failed to win any of their previous six encounters, including their famous 2-1 defeat in the Euro 2016 Round of 16.
It’s a first appearance in Group B for Gareth Southgate’s side who came closest to lifting the Nations League trophy during the first edition of the tournament in 2018/19 when they finished fourth. They were knocked out at the semi-final stage by eventual runners-up Holland, who were beaten by Portugal in the final in a 1-0 loss thanks to a goal from ex-Wolves star Goncalo Guedes.
