Nathan Lyon Reflects on Assisting Joe Root with Off-Break Bowling in Grade Cricket

Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has shared his fond memories of playing alongside English cricket great Joe Root in grade cricket. The two players helped each other improve their skills, with Lyon coaching Root on off-break bowling and Root helping Lyon with his batting. While Lyon admits his coaching may have helped Root more, he holds proud memories of their time together and admires Root’s constant drive to be better. The two players will meet in the upcoming Ashes series, where Root will be hoping to improve his record against Lyon. The first Test begins on June 16th at Edgbaston.
