NASA scientists have opened the Osiris-Rex space probe, which successfully collected around nine ounces (250 grams) of dust from the asteroid Bennu. The probe revealed black dust and debris on its avionics deck, although NASA has yet to confirm if these particles are from the asteroid. The scientific community is eager to study the bulk sample, which will require the disassembling of the probe. The majority of the sample will be revealed to the public on October 11, shedding light on the formation of our solar system and the conditions that allowed life to flourish on Earth. The discovery opens the door to groundbreaking insights into the mysteries of the solar system and our cosmic origins.
