California Car Dealership Under Investigation Following Nanny’s Tragic Death
A California car dealership is currently under investigation after a devastating incident resulted in the death of a nanny who cared for the child of celebrities Katharine McPhee and David Foster. The dealership, Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, has stated that it is fully cooperating with the Los Angeles Police Department to uncover the details surrounding the incident and ensure that such tragedies can be prevented in the future.
The victim, Yadira Calito, 55, lost her life on August 9 when she was struck by a Toyota RAV4 driven by an 84-year-old woman who accidentally crashed into Hamer Toyota’s customer reception area. According to the LAPD, the elderly driver inadvertently pressed on the gas instead of the brakes, trapping Calito under the vehicle and dragging her approximately 20 feet. Despite efforts to save her, Calito succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The driver, a local resident, did not sustain any injuries in the crash, but two male Toyota employees, aged 23 and 35, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Surprisingly, the driver has not been arrested in connection with Calito’s death.
The news of this tragic event prompted McPhee, 39, and Foster, 73, to share their grief with their fans. The couple, who were on their David Foster and Friends tour in Asia, announced their heartbreaking loss and their decision for at least one of them to return home to their family. McPhee expressed her apologies to their Jakarta fans on Instagram, stating that she hopes to one day return and perform for them again.
