Naira Marley to Return to Nigeria for Police Investigation into Mohbad’s Controversial Death
Naira Marley, the Nigerian musician and owner of Marlian Record label, has announced his intention to return to Nigeria in order to cooperate with the police investigation into the controversial death of singer Mohbad. Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records, passed away in a tragic manner on September 12, 2023.
In the wake of Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, were accused of being involved in the untimely demise of the singer. Documents and videos depicting Naira Marley and Sam Larry bullying Mohbad after his departure from the record label began circulating on the internet, fueling the allegations against them.
Responding to the police invitation, Naira Marley took to Instagram to express his willingness to assist in the investigation and provide his account of the events. He clarified that he has been out of Nigeria since August 31, 2023, and is yet to return.
Over the past few days, Naira Marley has faced severe criticism and damage to his reputation in connection with Mohbad’s death. Various stories have been concocted against him, but he vehemently denied any involvement in the tragic incident.
The Nigerian Police Force established a special investigative team on September 18th to look into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. Naira Marley assured his full cooperation with the authorities, stating that he has no reason to be a fugitive since he is innocent of any wrongdoing in Mohbad’s passing.
