The town of Alibaug, situated on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra, is set to experience a growth in real estate development thanks to an increase in government efforts to boost connectivity between the town and Mumbai. With current travel times of over three hours, the addition of several infrastructure projects aims to nearly halve travel time to just over an hour.
The most significant project is the Virar-Alibaug Corridor, proposed in 2010, which will connect towns such as Virar, Panvel, Bhiwandi, Uran, Kalyan, and Alibaug. The roll-on/roll-off service from Mumbai, which allows vehicles to board ferries while passengers remain inside, will assist in reducing travel times significantly.
Several other projects, such as the under-construction Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link and the widening of the Mumbai-Goa Road and Vadkhal Alibaug Road, will enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother movement of people and goods.
These changes will not only unlock the untouched potential of Alibaug as a residential and commercial destination, but they will also stimulate the development of supporting amenities such as hospitals, schools, and shopping centers. The rolling-out of several economic growth initiatives aims to attract businesses and industries, generating employment opportunities and boosting the local economy.
India’s largest branded land developer, The House of Abhinandan Lodha, recognizes the immense opportunity created by these government initiatives and the potential for investors to capitalize on appreciation and rentals from the upsurge in the town’s tourism.
