Multiple Felony Arrests Made in Lee County; Burglaries and Thefts Reported, US

Felonies

Several individuals were arrested in connection with felony charges and booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail. Here are the details of the arrests:

– Jacob S. Adams, 42, of Blue Springs, was arrested by the Shannon Police Department for a violation of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
– Jackie Bernard Brunson, 51, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department. The charges against him include possession of a Schedule II drug, petty larceny, expired tag, and no driver’s license.
– Robert F. Ferkich, 31, of Parrish, Alabama, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for three counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
– Marcus Allen Homan, 38, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department for possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.
– Robert Lee Johnson, 66, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department for possession of a Schedule II drug and fishing without a license.
– Matthew David Smith, 33, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for attempted felony taking of a motor vehicle.
– Nijel M. Washington, 24, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department for burglary of a dwelling, possession of a firearm by a felon, and simple assault.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has filed the following reports:

1. A woman residing on County Road 1409 in Mooreville reported that a neighbor’s dog had entered her carport and growled at her. This was not the first time this had happened, as the dog had also growled at her children in the past. The woman hasn’t seen the dog recently.

2. A woman living on County Road 1766 in Tupelo encountered two pit bulls that got into her garbage. When she tried to scare them away, they growled at her. One of the dogs returned the following day and frightened her again.

3. A woman on Birmingham Ridge Road reported that her credit cards were used to make unauthorized purchases through Sam’s Club and DoorDash. Although one transaction amounting to $170 went through, the bank was able to stop the other one. The woman was advised to file a police report.

4. A Saltillo resident on North Ridge Road had an unknown individual ring their doorbell at 3:30 a.m. Instead of answering, the resident called 911 to alert the authorities.

5. A Pontotoc woman driving along the Natchez Trace Parkway near Palmetto Road discovered a group of kittens by the side of the road. She wanted to take them to the Tupelo-Lee County Humane Society, but wasn’t sure if they had the capacity to accommodate them.

6. An individual riding a motorcycle on County Road 1009 near Highway 178 encountered a Hispanic woman blowing leaves onto the road. This posed a potential hazard, nearly causing the motorcyclist to crash. The motorcyclist asked the woman to remove the leaves, but she refused. Consequently, he dialed 911 to report the situation.

7. A woman residing on Mitchell Road reported that her car’s right window was broken in the apartment parking lot, with her purse and ID card stolen.

8. A man living on Mitchell Road noticed that the driver’s side back door of his vehicle was open. It was then that he realized that his Remington rifle, lying on the back seat, was missing. Additionally, the 9mm pistol he had in a dashboard-mounted holster had also been stolen.

9. A Tupelo resident on Stratton Drive stated that overnight, someone entered their family’s three unlocked vehicles and rummaged through them. The only item missing was a North Face backpack.

10. Another resident on Reynard Drive reported that someone shattered the passenger window of their Jeep overnight, although nothing appeared to be stolen.

11. A woman on Mitchell Road discovered that the passenger window of her car had been broken overnight, with $25 stolen from her purse.

12. A man on County Road 1190 in Tupelo found that someone had obtained his debit card information and transferred $490 from his account.

13. A Saltillo resident on County Road 1119 arrived home around 11:30 p.m. and noticed that the front door was open. No items appeared to be missing, and there were no signs of forced entry.

14. The Lee County landfill reported a burglary at their shop on County Road 1282. The perpetrator broke in and stole an impact wrench and various tools.

15. A woman on County Road 325 in Shannon reported that her neighbor was shooting a gun outside around 1:15 p.m., causing distress to her grandchild who was playing in the area.

Additionally, a deputy responding to a car burglary on Reynard Drive discovered a pink purse on the side of the road. The victim stated that someone had broken into their daughter’s car overnight and taken her purse. When the victim described the purse, the deputy realized that it was the one he had found. The daughter confirmed that nothing appeared to be missing from the purse.
