Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated that the upcoming ‘MotoGP’ racing event will strengthen the state’s brand. The racing event is set to take place from September 22 to September 24, 2023, at the Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This will be a significant event for both the state and India. During a recent meeting with the race organizers, the Chief Minister unveiled the first ticket for the race.
MotoGP is the world’s largest and oldest bike racing competition, and I am ecstatic that India will be hosting it for the first time. This event will undoubtedly contribute to the success of Uttar Pradesh and the entire nation, said Adityanath.
The successful running of the ‘MotoGP Bharat’ racing competition will establish ‘Brand Uttar Pradesh’ on a global level, according to the Chief Minister. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh will host the ‘Moto E-Race’ for the first time outside of Europe, which will add to the success story of the state.
The Chief Minister expressed his regret about the discontinuation of the ‘Formula One Race’, which was previously brought to Uttar Pradesh, due to apathy and non-cooperation by previous governments. This led to the race’s organizer, Carmelo, hesitating to hold the event in Uttar Pradesh in 2023. However, Adityanath assured him of the government’s full cooperation and security regarding the organization of this race in Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath emphasized that out of the MotoGP member countries, 12 countries are members of G-20, including America, Australia, France, and Japan. Currently, India is chairing the G-20, and the G-20 heads of state will be present in New Delhi during the competition. The event is expected to create economic activity of Rs 1000 crore in Uttar Pradesh.
The use of 30 per cent ethanol in the bike used for the competition is commendable and will help in reducing the carbon footprint. Uttar Pradesh is the largest ethanol-producing state in the country, making it an important aspect of organizing this grand event, according to Adityanath.
The Chief Minister received a helmet from the organizers on behalf of the Spanish rider, Enea Bastianini, and sent a personally signed helmet as a gift.
The success of this racing event will not only add to the prestige of Uttar Pradesh and India but will also create economic activity for the state. The Chief Minister’s backing of the event provides assurance to the race organizers and participants and offers an opportunity to establish ‘Brand Uttar Pradesh’ on a global scale.
