Sian and Morgan Ellis, a mother-daughter duo, launched a shocking attack on a helpless victim in a street assault in Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent. The brutal incident took place on Garsdale Crescent and was witnessed by frightened neighbors. The assailants kicked and punched the victim while she lay defenseless on the ground. They also verbally abused her in a disgraceful display of violence.

Prior to this attack, another victim had already been targeted and assaulted by Jake Causley, a co-defendant in the case. This unprovoked aggression was followed by yet another attacker whose identity remains undisclosed. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard that there had been a dispute between the victims and the Ellis family, which seemed to be the underlying cause behind these assaults.

During the second attack, Sian Ellis verbally abused the victim and then proceeded to punch her, causing her to fall to the ground. Morgan Ellis then joined in, kicking and punching the victim repeatedly in the head while Sian Ellis stood close by. The consequences of this vicious assault were severe for both victims. The first victim suffered a cut head, bruising, grazing, and a broken thumb, while the second victim had fractured cheekbones and a burst blood vessel in her eye. Understandably, both victims now experience anxiety, struggle with sleep, and are afraid to venture out alone.

In court, Sian Ellis pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and received an 18-month community order along with a 20-day rehabilitation requirement. Representing Sian Ellis, Rupert Jones stated that she had shown remorse for her actions. Morgan Ellis, on the other hand, has recently given birth to her first child and pleaded guilty to the same charges. The 21-year-old was given a nine-month suspended prison sentence for two years, as well as a 15-day rehabilitation requirement. Paul Cliff, Morgan’s defense attorney, claimed that she was not present when the initial incident occurred and was sunbathing in the backyard before being drawn into a heightened emotional state, fueled by a false sense of loyalty towards her family.

Jake Causley, a father-of-six, admitted to assault and received a six-month suspended prison sentence for two years. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and a 30-day rehabilitation requirement. Barry White, Causley’s defense lawyer, explained that he had rushed out barefoot and shirtless when he heard the commotion, and engaged in a single stamp and kick before retreating back inside.

The presiding judge, Recorder Anthony Warner, expressed his dismay at the disgraceful behavior exhibited by Sian and Morgan Ellis, noting that it had caused fear among onlookers in a quiet residential street. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the impact it had on its victims.
