The breeding of mosquito larvae has been found on the premises of 226 schools in Delhi during a recent inspection carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). A total of 2,556 schools and educational institutions were inspected across all 12 MCD zones, with breeding sites located in dozens of schools. The larvae were removed, while 197 legal notices were issued and 45 prosecutions were pursued, according to a statement from the MCD. Affected schools, which included DPS School Sunder Nagar and Vivekananda Public School among others, were advised to take steps to prevent breeding.
