Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Egypt on Saturday to kick off a two-day visit, optimistic that the trip will strengthen India’s relationship with the Arab nation. After completing his US state tour, Modi was greeted by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on arrival in Cairo. This is the first bilateral visit by any Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, and Modi is set to attend talks with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as part of his visit. A momentous visit was underway as Modi received a ceremonial welcome and guard of honour upon his arrival. Modi took to Twitter to express his appreciation for the welcome and his eagerness to discuss topics with Egypt’s leaders. The visit is expected to result in the signing of a few MoUs, including those in the field of trade, defence, and environmental safety.
