Los Angeles Model Found Dead and Shackled, Autopsy Reveals Homicidal Violence
In a shocking and tragic incident, a model named Maleesa Marie Mooney was discovered dead in her Los Angeles home, revealing a disturbing case of homicide. The autopsy report, obtained by PEOPLE from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, indicates that Mooney’s cause of death was classified as homicidal violence. The 31-year-old model was brutally beaten and shackled before being concealed in her own refrigerator.
Mooney was last seen on CCTV footage at her residence on September 6. Concerned about her well-being, Mooney’s mother contacted the police on September 12, prompting them to investigate her daughter’s home. What they found was a gruesome scene that left everyone shocked and heartbroken.
The postmortem examination unveiled that Mooney had sustained blunt force injuries to various parts of her body. Additionally, toxicology tests revealed the presence of drugs in her system. However, it remains uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in her death, as the severity of the blunt-force wounds suggested that she was likely a victim of a violent assault.
Authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects in this case. When approached for information, the Los Angeles Police Department declined to provide further details. Mooney’s sister, Jourdin Pauline, shared that the model was approximately two months pregnant at the time of her tragic demise. Motherhood was something she had eagerly looked forward to and discussed with her loved ones, according to Pauline. Mooney’s partner was described as utterly devastated by the incident.
Pauline also expressed the family’s frustration with the lack of information during the ongoing investigation. Their pain and confusion were evident during the funeral and coroner’s visit. She described the situation as heartbreaking and horrific, stating that no one should have to go through such a tragedy. Many aspects surrounding Mooney’s death remain unclear and puzzling to her family.
Recalling the day they visited Mooney’s apartment after the welfare check was made, Pauline revealed the chilling and distressing scene they encountered. The refrigerator was gone, and there were signs of disturbance in the apartment. The family grappled with extreme emotions and a profound sense of fear. Pauline expressed her deep sorrow and detestation when thinking about the terrifying events.
In an equally disturbing incident, another model, Nichole Coats, was also found dead in her home just two days after Mooney’s tragic discovery. However, the authorities have emphasized that the two cases are unrelated, despite sharing certain similarities. Coats, aged 32, passed away on September 10, her death attributed to cocaine and ethanol toxicity according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
These shocking incidents have left the community shaken and seeking answers. As investigations continue, it is hoped that law enforcement officials will uncover the truth and bring justice to the victims and their families. The fashion and modeling industry has lost two talented individuals, leaving a void that can never be filled.
