Multi-discipline martial arts star Danial Williams has expressed deep regret about his previous MMA performances as he prepares for his upcoming fight against Filipino knockout artist Lito Adiwang. Williams, also known as ‘Mini T,’ is determined to learn from past mistakes that cost him world title shots in kickboxing. Now, he is shifting his focus to mixed martial arts and is set to compete for the ONE strawweight MMA world title. The fight will take place at ONE Fight Night 19: Haggerty vs. Lobo on February 16 in Bangkok, Thailand.

In his last MMA bout in October 2022, Williams suffered a third-round TKO defeat to Jeremy ‘The Jaguar’ Miado. However, he reveals that he was not adequately prepared for the fight, admitting, I just didn’t do any hard sessions (for the Miado fight), and it’s something I’ll regret always. Williams acknowledges that he became complacent after a string of victories and a hefty performance bonus for his knockout win over Zelang Zhaxi.

Determined to rectify his mistakes, Williams is now taking a more focused and disciplined approach to his training. He is leaving no stone unturned, committing himself to intensive sessions and adopting a growth mindset. Williams emphasizes the importance of staying in the present and continually improving as a fighter: So, this fight camp, I live a lot in the present day and what skills I can gain. Because I guess that’s the biggest focus as well – just gaining skill, improving being a better fighter.

Looking ahead to his next opponent, Williams acknowledges the challenge posed by Lito Adiwang, who has a reputation for finishing fights. Adiwang recently defeated Jeremy Miado, adding to the significance of their potential rematch. Williams recognizes the determination and resilience of his Filipino counterpart, saying, I’m fighting a guy that’s going to give it his all. He is willing to die in there. So, that keeps me focused. That gets me up in the morning, I want to train hard as well.

Despite his ambition to reclaim victory against Miado, Williams remains fully focused on the immediate task at hand. Appreciating Adiwang’s fighting pedigree and tenacity, Williams is determined to give his all and push for another shot at the world title. He aims to demonstrate his growth as a fighter and prove himself amongst the elite in the MMA world: I’m respecting my opponent, knowing that I’m in for a serious ride. I feel the same, I’m willing to die in there as well. So yeah, that’s keeping me focused at the moment.

Williams’ upcoming fight against Adiwang promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both fighters striving for redemption and further success in their respective careers. MMA fans can look forward to witnessing two warriors pushing their limits in the quest for victory.
