Mangaluru MLA Demands Action Against Provocative Instagram Pages
Mangaluru City North MLA, Bharath Shetty Y, recently met with city police commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain to express his concerns over certain Instagram pages that have been sharing provocative content, causing distress to the Hindu community. Shetty emphasized the need for immediate action against these miscreants who are intentionally posting malicious content to insult the faith of others.
During a press conference, Shetty revealed that he had identified three Instagram pages that were manipulating videos from religious festivals, such as ‘daiva kola’ and ‘Nemotsava,’ and combining them with film songs. He promptly submitted the details of these pages to the police, as he believes that if they are left unchecked, it could potentially lead to communal tension.
Expressing his urgency, Shetty called upon the police department to take swift action against these pages. He also requested government ministers to address this issue as they have been emphasizing the importance of fact-checking. Shetty warned that if such actions are allowed to persist, it may result in untoward incidents for which the government would hold responsibility. He further noted that during the previous BJP government’s tenure, the police would take proactive action. However, he expressed concern that these cases have only been increasing, hence his decision to file a complaint with the city police commissioner.
In conclusion, Mangaluru MLA Bharath Shetty Y has raised a serious concern regarding certain Instagram pages that are spreading provocative content and hurting the sentiments of Hindus. He has urged both the police department and government ministers to take immediate action to prevent potential communal tension. It remains to be seen how these concerns will be addressed, and whether the necessary actions will be taken to curb the spread of such malicious content on social media platforms.
