A case of sexual assault has been registered by the Delhi Police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act based on a complaint filed by a 16-year-old girl. The girl alleges that she was sexually exploited by a man she met during a wedding on the pretext of marriage. The incident is reported to have taken place in Kaithinia in Bihar’s Madhubani district.
According to the victim’s complaint, she had gone home to Bihar with her parents to attend the wedding of a friend’s brother. The victim’s parents work as maids. It was revealed that the girl fell ill on June 29 after returning to Delhi, and following a preliminary medical examination, it was determined that she was pregnant.
The Roop Nagar police station in New Delhi has registered a First Information Report under sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 6 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act.
