Minnesota Lynx Eyeing Continued Win Streak Against Seattle Storm

In the latest Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) showdown, the Minnesota Lynx are preparing to extend their winning streak against the Seattle Storm. After defeating the Storm on the road earlier this week, the Lynx are determined to secure another victory on their home court in Minneapolis this Sunday.

Led by their star player, Napheesa Collier, the Lynx have an opportunity to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time since their impressive three-game winning streak from July 26-30. Collier has been instrumental in Minnesota’s success, showcasing her skills and contributing significantly to the team’s victories against the Storm.

During the previous encounter, Collier amassed an impressive 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Kayla McBride also made a notable impact with 21 points. With a solid lead of up to 15 points, the Lynx clinched a 78-70 win on the road. Despite winning only two of their last five games, the Lynx currently occupy the sixth playoff spot in the WNBA standings.

Collier’s outstanding performance has been crucial to Minnesota’s dominance over Seattle this season, with the Lynx triumphing in all three of their meetings. Ezi Magbegor, a forward for the Storm, acknowledges Collier’s versatility and describes her as a formidable player who can score both inside and outside.

On the other side, Seattle’s Jewell Loyd is the league’s leading scorer, averaging an impressive 23.8 points per game. However, in the previous clash, Loyd struggled, going just 1-for-8 from the three-point range and scoring a modest 15 points against the Lynx. Her recent performance has raised concerns for the Storm, as she has made only 3 of 24 shots from beyond the arc in the last four games.

Storm coach Noelle Quinn acknowledges the impact Loyd’s scoring efficiency has on the team’s overall success, stating that when she is on form, it opens up opportunities for the rest of the team.

While Seattle’s Sami Whitcomb shone with a season-high 23 points in the previous faceoff, hitting 5-of-8 three-point shots, the Storm face the challenge of playing the majority of their final nine games on the road. In contrast, the Lynx have a favorable schedule ahead with five of their next seven games to be played at home, followed by two consecutive away games to close out the regular season. McBride has been a key contributor for Minnesota in their three encounters with Seattle this year, averaging 19.3 points.

As the Minnesota Lynx prepare to battle the Seattle Storm once again, fans eagerly anticipate a thrilling clash between two competitive teams. The Lynx will be banking on the talent and performance of players like Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride, while the Storm will be looking for Jewell Loyd to find her shooting rhythm. With the playoff race intensifying, both teams are aware of the significance of securing victories in this crucial stage of the season.
